Arts Award Supporter Spotlight

Northamptonshire Libraries

Northamptonshire Libraries became a Supporter as it enables them to help young people work towards their Arts Award, without all their staff being trained as Arts Award advisers. Their libraries are very busy places, a community hub more than anything, and supporting children and families is an important part of their service.

Their Supporter offers are open to anyone and they offer:

  • free craft activities at weekends and in school holidays
  • free theatre performances in school holidays
  • free homework clubs to help young people with research
  • meet their resident artists and ask them about their work
  • volunteer opportunities, for anyone aged over 14 years old, to run creative groups or deliver children's activities
  • space to exhibit or perform arts pieces

A large number of children come to these events, and Northamptonshire Libraries promote them through their Arts Award Supporter page, the events calendar and posters and flyers within individual libraries.

Arts Award Supporter allows them to connect with young people and support them with their Arts Award.
